THE SILENCE BEHIND THE FACE
HM-ART1530 Acrylic on wooden panel, resin, broken mirror particles, and fluorescent pigment 85 × 85 cm
This work explores the fragile space between visibility and concealment. Built from acrylic, resin, broken mirror particles, and fluorescent pigment, the mask appears weathered by time, memory, and emotional erosion.
The ancient gold tones evoke something both sacred and damaged:
a surface that once radiated certainty, now fragmented into traces and remains. Reflective particles embedded throughout the work scatter light unpredictably, transforming the mask into an unstable presence that continuously shifts between revelation and disappearance.
In darkness, fluorescent elements uncover hidden dimensions beneath the visible layer. What appears silent during the day quietly continues to exist beyond ordinary perception.
The work suggests that identity is never entirely exposed.
Behind every visible face remains a deeper silence that cannot fully be translated into language.
