THE TWISTED HEAD
HM-ART1504- Plaster sculpture with bronze patina finish 70x54x40
The Twisted Head was inspired by the words:
“It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.”
The sculpture captures the precise instant where transformation begins — not gradually, but suddenly. In a fraction of a second, a human being can choose another direction, another identity, another future.
The face appears calm and almost classical, yet the form cannot remain whole. The surface fractures open, revealing another presence hidden beneath the visible self. What emerges is not destruction, but transition: the birth of a new reality created through decision.
The split in the sculpture symbolises the invisible boundary between past and future. One side still belongs to memory, certainty, and the familiar self. The other side moves toward the unknown. Between them exists only a brief moment — fragile, irreversible, and powerful enough to alter destiny forever.
Light continuously changes the work. Shadows deepen the fracture while revealing new contours inside the form, as if the sculpture itself remains suspended in transformation.
The Twisted Head is not about breaking apart.
It is about the exact moment a new self begins to exist.
