SOUL EVAPORATION

HM-ART1502- Oil on canvas 120x170cm

“It represents what happens to us when we loose our humanity…We evaporate as beings” – D.Lopez

Two figures stand between fire and water.

Behind them:
a city burning.

Ahead:
the open sea.

One turns back.

Joella.

Not out of doubt—
but to release what must be left behind.

A past marked by betrayal,
silence,
and a life that no longer holds.

Still—
she steps forward.

Toward something fragile,
yet alive.

A future.
A child.
A purpose not yet fully formed.

The second figure does not follow.

He observes.

He knows.

He carries distance,
truth,
and the weight of what was never said.

There are things a man can hide from the world—

but not from himself.

And not forever from his child.

The space within them is not emptiness.

It is loss.

It is grief.

It is what remains
when something essential disappears.

But it is also where something new begins.

Because truth,
once faced—

does not destroy.

It transforms.
