SELF PORTRAIT FINDS FOCUS

HM-ART1051- Oil on canvas 80x100cm

There are moments in life when everything begins to align—
not because the path is clear,
but because the direction is finally chosen.

This self-portrait captures a man in transition.
Not at the end of the journey,
but at the moment he decides to truly begin.

The structures behind him suggest order, construction, intention—
a world being built step by step.
Yet the path is still incomplete, stretching forward into uncertainty.

In 2010, the vision was present,
but not yet fulfilled.
The logo—still unfinished—stood as a symbol of something growing,
something searching for its final form.

Years later, that form was found.
Not by chance,
but through persistence, reflection, and the quiet accumulation of lessons.

Every experience became material.
Every setback, a foundation.

Focus did not come instantly.
It was shaped.

And in the end, freedom was not given—
it was built.

A life across cultures, across identities, across places,
not fragmented, but integrated:

Belgian by birth.
Italian by heart.
Portuguese by choice.

Not a contradiction—
but a completion.
