HM-ART1544- CHEGA, … enough is enough
(Small version, paint on wooden board- 85x85cm- finished with a top layer of resin)
When you look at this portrait, you see more than a face. You see fragments, shards, pieces that once threatened to fall apart. They are traces of a community that, under harsh circumstances, shattered almost everything personal.
Yet, this is not an image of downfall. Each broken part contributes to a new whole, stronger and more intense than before. The cracks reveal vulnerability, but also the strength to endure despite everything.
CHEGA – “enough is enough” – marks a tipping point here. The moment when one no longer yields to external pressure, but instead draws a line. The bright lines and contrasting colors reinforce that sense of resistance and reconstruction.
This work invites you to reflect on your own limits, on what you want to leave behind, and what you want to reassemble. It is a mirror: how far can one break without being definitively broken?
