Born In The Moment- L

Created live during a wine tasting and Art Up gathering in Torres Vedras in September 2023, this work captures the raw spontaneity of creation in real time. Painted by Benjamin Carbonne in front of an audience, the portrait evolved through instinctive gestures, conversation, atmosphere, and the unpredictability of the moment itself.

The paint proved unusually fluid and difficult to control, producing heavy drips and dissolving textures across the face. Rather than resisting these imperfections, the artist allowed them to become part of the composition, transforming technical instability into emotional intensity.

The result is a portrait suspended between emergence and disintegration —
a human presence shaped as much by accident as intention,
where the energy of the evening remains permanently embedded within the work.
