The Artist Will Find His Cinderella explores recognition, destiny, and connection through stone and geometry.
At the center of the sculpture lies a carved eye embedded within rough natural stone. Focal lines emerge from this central form and reappear in the painting Self-Portrait Finds Focus, creating a dialogue between sculpture and painting.
The work was conceived around a precise gesture: only Cinderella’s right hand fits perfectly into the carved contours above the eye. Her thumb must rest upon the untouched raw stone, linking refinement and imperfection within the same moment.
Inside the eye, a small triangular stone of another material has been inserted. Its pointed form aligns with the larger focal line, reinforcing the idea of direction, intuition, and encounter.
Like Cinderella’s slipper, the sculpture suggests that certain connections cannot be forced — they simply fit because they were meant to.
