In this story, 196 nation leaders and their allies narrowly escape aboard the last remaining spacecraft from a clandestine launch site, seeking refuge on the moon. Upon their arrival, they stare back at their home planet, depicted as an eye, now visibly exhausted.
The moonwalkers are faced with the grim reality that their previous actions have led to the degradation of Earth. They recognize the futility of their power-driven pursuits and the consequences of their neglect of the environment. They witness the devastation from afar and observe the destruction of their cities by nuclear warfare.
Yet, stranded in the desolate moonscape, they are without purpose. While they pass the time playing card games, they end up cleaning each other up one by one out of boredom.

In dit verhaal ontsnappen 196 leiders van landen en hun bondgenoten ternauwernood aan boord van het laatst overgebleven ruimtevaartuig van een clandestiene lanceerplaats, op zoek naar hun toevlucht op de maan. Bij hun aankomst staren ze terug naar hun thuisplaneet, afgebeeld als een oog, dat nu zichtbaar uitgeput is.
De moonwalkers worden geconfronteerd met de grimmige realiteit dat hun eerdere acties hebben geleid tot de degradatie van de aarde. Ze erkennen de nutteloosheid van hun machtsgedreven bezigheden en de gevolgen van hun verwaarlozing van het milieu. Ze zijn van verre getuige van de verwoesting en observeren de verwoesting van hun steden door nucleaire oorlogvoering.
Toch zijn ze, gestrand in het desolate maanlandschap, zonder doel. Terwijl ze de tijd doorbrengen met kaartspellen, ruimen ze uit verveling uiteindelijk elkaar één voor één op.

Nesta história, 196 líderes nacionais e seus aliados escapam por pouco a bordo da última espaçonave restante de um local de lançamento clandestino, buscando refúgio na lua. Ao chegarem, eles olham para seu planeta natal, representado como um olho, agora visivelmente exausto.
Os moonwalkers enfrentam a dura realidade de que suas ações anteriores levaram à degradação da Terra. Reconhecem a futilidade das suas actividades movidas pelo poder e as consequências da sua negligência para com o ambiente. Eles testemunham a devastação de longe e observam a destruição de cidades pela guerra nuclear.
No entanto, presos na desolada paisagem lunar, eles não têm propósito. Enquanto passam o tempo jogando cartas, acabam limpando uns aos outros, um por um, por causa do tédio.

Indeed, no matter how we look at it, every person is fighting his/her own battle.
